Post Event Press Release -November 22, 2007

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Panache!2007 came to Allen, Texas last Saturday night on November 10th and was a smashing success attended by 230 patrons to the arts of Allen.

Presented by the Allen Arts Alliance, who’s mission is to promote, nurture and celebrate arts and culture, this black-tie gala was an evening surrounded in art and wrapped in mystery as they drove home their theme of What is Art?  Unlock the Mystery at Panache!2007.   Guests of the sold-out event who lined up on the red carpet entry 45 minutes early (and stayed an hour after the scheduled ending time of Midnight!) enjoyed an array of attractions – greeted at the door with a live ensemble from the Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra, cocktails and hors’deuvres passed around the impressive silent auction tables, a feature installation from the advanced art students from Allen Highschool, dinner and show that included outstanding performances by the Allen Civic Ballet, Allen’s very own Kristin Simchik and Broadway’s David Gaschen singing on stage and accompanied by 44 members of the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra!  All of this was followed by the big reveal of the Mystery Artists who participated in the 9-piece Mystery Installation that held centerstage to the evening’s exhibit of visual arts.  After soaking up the visual and performing arts of the evening, guests of Panache!2007 celebrated the arts and the event by dancing the night away.  The entire evening was saturated in visual and performing arts, good cheer, pride and support for the arts of Allen … and to say the very least, this memorable event was presented with true panache!

The Allen Arts Alliance wishes to extend a very sincere thank you to all who attended as well as to all the businesses and artists that contributed to and supported the production of this event.  Panache!2007 has left it’s mark in Allen and inspired all in attendance to cherish and nurture the arts.  So mark your calendars now and stay tuned for next November’s Panache!2008 … it is definitely an event that is here to stay and something you won’t want to miss!

The Allen Arts Alliance invites you to share in the mystery and excitement of Panache! - a black tie gala supporting the arts of Allen.

What Is Art? Unlock the Mystery  is the theme for Panache! 2007. The dinner dance and evening of entertainment is scheduled for Saturday November 10 from 6:30 p.m. – midnight at the Allen Senior Center at 451 St. Mary Drive in Allen.

"Panache! 2007, our second annual black-tie Gala, is specifically designed to Promote And Nurture Arts, Culture & Heritage Enrichment in the Allen community.  The Allen Arts Alliance, a non-profit organization and umbrella organization in place to support the various art organizations of Allen, is pleased to bring this event to the community and promises to dazzle once again.  This year’s theme is wrapped around mystery and promises a night to remember.

The Alliance represents ten different community arts groups including Allen’s Civic Ballet,  Allen Community Theater, Allen Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus, Allen Heritage Guild, Allen ISD Performing & Visual Arts, Art To Go, City of Allen Public Art, Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra, Coalition of Visual Artists and Friends of the Allen Public Library.

Panache! 2007 will feature David Gaschen, Broadway performer and recording artist. Gaschen was cast in 1995 as “the phantom” in the original Swiss production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera.  At the age of 26 he was the youngest phantom to be cast in the production.  After playing the phantom for two years in Switzerland, he reprised his role of Phantom in the German Production performing the role well over 1000 times. He made his Broadway debut as the phantom in November of 1999.  The Texas Tech graduate has released a self titled CD of popular music and has performed with outstanding symphonies such as The Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, the Wheeling Symphony and the Lubbock Symphony.  He was also inducted into the Buddy Holly Walk of Fame for outstanding contributions to the field of music.

Gaschen will be performing at Panache with the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra. Also performing with the symphony and Gaschen will be 2003 Allen High School graduate Kristen Simchik.  Kristen recently graduated from Oklahoma City University and will be continuing her studies at Boston Conservatory this fall.  She is also a former student of Allen’s Susan Seibert.

The celebration of arts will also include performances by the Allen Civic Ballet and Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra.

Panache! 2007 will celebrate the visual arts with a unique event designed to showcase Allen artists.  Following the evening’s mystery theme, an exhibit of nine unsigned original works of art will be presented for silent auction.  One highlight of the evening will be unlocking the mystery and revealing the artist behind each of the donated pieces.  Arrangements will be made after the event for the artists to sign their work which then be offered for auction.

The evening will also feature an exhibit of selected artwork by Allen high school students.

Tickets for the evening of art, entertainment, dinner and dancing are $75 per person if purchased by October 25, 2007. Tickets will be $90 per person after October 25.  Table sponsorships are also available for $850.  For sponsorship or volunteer opportunities, contact Event Chair, Amber Sutherland at scott_amber@sbcglobal.net or 214-551-7601.
